About the logo Overcoming For Life:

The Sea Turtle…

On the shell, the inner portion represents the Father (Creator of the heavens and earth represented by the waves), Son (cross and the center of our focus), and Holy Spirit (represented by the ring--a covenant we have with our Lord).

The turtle’s head and tail together represent the sword of truth, His Word (handle and blade, respectively). The front legs provide the guard on the sword’s handle. The front and rear legs also form the shield of faith. Sea Turtles are a peaceful creature of God. But turtles also wear their armor at all times for protection against predators. Likewise, we too should “take up the whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:13).
In Samoan folklore sea turtles were believed to have the power to save fishermen who were lost at sea by bringing them safely to shore. Many today, even believers, are lost in storms of adversity. Mark and Kristin pray that their paintings, writings, and messages will help inspire and encourage you and bring you to a higher rock! They pray that you will give God your helm and allow God to fully and completely lead you on your journey through mighty waters.

Psalm 61:2 "From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

Isaiah 43:16-19 "Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters…"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
